Online Roundtable

Australia’s Place in the World

Thursday 7th April

This Roundtable involved sharing thoughts on the questions detailed below and engaging in a discussion.

The roundtable covered the following critical questions:

    • Are we returning to a world split by ideology and great power games? Is this inevitable or are other paths possible? What are the scenarios we face?
    • What is Australia’s place in this emerging new world? What strategic options do we have available? How will our choices define our future?
    • What will it mean to be a good global citizen in the 21stcentury? Will we be able to compete on security, while cooperating on environment and economic goals? How does Australia strike the right balance?

Sean Innis ADC Forum Fellow of Public Policy chaired the discussion.
